This weekend is the twelfth Bolton Food and Drink festival and Bolton FM will be out and about taking an active part in proceedings.

I'm a bit of a 'foodie'. It seems to most people at the station that whenever food is out or mentioned I'm never too far away.

I don't know how I've got this reputation. Yes, I've eaten ten pasties in under 19 minutes; a 16" pizza and garlic dough balls in under ten minutes and given an hour I've devoured 58oz of steak with chips and onion rings.  But these were in the name of charity.

The last earned me a free cheesecake years later after wagering with a waiter that the double burger I doubled [because the menu didn't say I couldn't] but Bolton's biggest breakfast beat me.

The Food and Drink Festival opens tomorrow with two Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines, and feature cookery demonstrations from Strictly Come Dancing star Ainsley Harriott, co-presenter of Channel 4 Sunday Brunch Simon Rimmer and festival favourite James Martin.

This year the young ones are in for a zany treat with a 'Mad Hatter's Tea Party' in 'Alice's Wonderland' marquee. They will be able to play croquet with the Red Queen, share a snack with Alice and a cup of tea with the March Hare, experience a lively interactive Alice in Wonderland musical, and enjoy a specially prepared picnic.

Bolton FM's volunteers will be out and about looking to get your thoughts on the festival and provide some great entertainment.

We'll also keep you up to date with what's happening at the festival

Don't miss out, keep your radio tuned to Bolton FM!
