Christmas!
It's got me humming the same song to myself that I always do this time of year - London Wainwright III's "Suddenly It's Christmas".
It isn't, it's September and as Loudon says:
Suddenly it's Christmas
The longest holiday.
When they say 'Season's Greetings'
They mean just what they say.
It's a season, it's a marathon
Retail eternity
And it's not over til it's over
And you throw away the tree.
I'm not a Grinch. I like Christmas. I just have to warm up to it, generally from the first of December and that's three months away.
So while we're planning some things for Christmas at Bolton FM, like special programmes, features and adverts, let's not forget there are lots of events and activities to keep us busy in the "Here and the Now"; incidentally another song by Loudon.
There's Bolton Hospice's 'Bubble Rush' and Bolton's Lads and Girls Clubs Beer Festival for example, and we're at the Macron Stadium on Sunday taking part in Bolton's Eid Expo. It's a fun filled day for all the family with traditional funfair rides, fantastic food and a spectacular souk full of personalised stalls.
I know soon I'll have to deal with mince pies that a best before date of 1st November, but there are plenty of things to enjoy before then.
