This Sunday is Bonfire Night, and lots of you will be heading out to firework displays around Bolton, or hosting your own celebrations over the weekend.

But, as with any big event in the calendar, craning your neck watching sometimes brilliant, often quite average explosions in the sky is made much more fun with a banging soundtrack to really set things off in style.

We're providing music and entertainment in Bury and Rochdale this weekend (our volunteers come from across Greater Manchester) so to save you getting hot and bothered, here's Bolton FM's playlist themed around fire to get your Bonfire party banging!

Ella Henderson ~ Rockets
Crowded House ~ Catherine Wheels
Johnny Cash ~ Ring of Fire
Burning Love ~ Elvis Presley
Katy Perry ~ Firework
The Trammps ~ Disco Inferno
The Rolling Stones ~ Play with Fire
John Parr ~ St. Elmo's Fire.

Please consider attending an organised event rather than risking the safety of yourself, your family and friends by having your own bonfire. However, if you're determined to go ahead with your own bonfire, for safety's sake follow Greater Manchester Fire Service's advice which can be found on their website – manchesterfire.gov.uk.

The website includes important 'do's and don'ts' when it comes to having a safe bonfire night, including:

Don't leave bonfires unattended.
Only clean dry timber should be burned
Don't light the fire if it's windy in case burning embers blow away and start fires.
Always check that no children or animals are hiding in the bonfire before lighting it.
Keep some buckets of water nearby in case of emergency and to damp down after the event.
Always extinguish your bonfire once your party has finished.
If you're having a firework display, make sure you light the bonfire afterwards so there's no risk of sparks or heat from the fire setting off the fireworks. Never put fireworks on the fire.

Next week we’ll talk about some of our plans for Christmas.
