Each year, many International Women's Day events are held worldwide - global gatherings, conferences, awards, exhibitions, festivals, fun runs, corporate events, concert performances, speaking events, online digital gatherings and much more.
It has been observed since the early 1900s and calls for gender equality.
On the 8th March, no male voices will be heard on Bolton FM as we go all female for the day to mark International Women's Day. There'll also be a number of female guests who have been very successful in their different industries, and it will be a good to showcase women in Bolton who are
in powerful jobs and are successful.
We are working on the final line-up as I write this column and we'll tell you more about our schedule for International Women's Day closer to the time in the Bolton News and on Bolton FM's website - boltonfm.com.
And while you are on our website why not see where Bolton FM's roadshow vehicle will be over the next couple of months. For example, why not face your fears and take part in Bolton Hospice's Fire & Ice Walk?
The Fire & Ice Walk is a once in a lifetime challenge of mind over matter; the Firewalk is 20ft of smouldering hot coals and the the Ice Walk is 15ft of razor sharp broken glass!
Full training is given to complete the walk safely and registration costs £20 for either the Fire or Ice Walk or just £25 for both! Participants are asked to try and raise a minimum sponsorship of £125 to
help raise vital funds for the hospice. If you are interested contact Bolton Hospice on 01204 663 055.
International Women's Day takes place on the 8th March, it celebrates
the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women.
