My suggestion of playing PinkFong's "Baby Shark" caused some consternation. The song's appearance in the UK's Top 40 was a symptom of the desperation felt by parents across the country as they struggled to entertain little ones over the long summer holidays.
When a radio station plays music from the last fifty years or so not every song you hear is going to be your favourite.
But the next one might be.
My own musical tastes are diverse - I've played songs from the early part of the 1900's on Bolton FM. I've played songs in the Official Charts' Top 40, so I'm incredibly proud in Bolton FM's desire to be inclusive of the whole of Bolton's musical tastes.
If you're a big fan of 80's music tune in on Saturdays for Club Tropicana with Kevin Gurney from 6pm; if the 70's is more to your musical there's The Seventies Show with Neil Wilkinson, Sunday's from 7pm.
On Monday nights you'll hear a number of specialist music shows playing classical, country, soul or rock music.
Pop along to boltonfm.com and check our schedule of programmes. In the meantime keep your radio tuned to us - your favourite song might just be on in a minute, or maybe you've missed it reading this column!
It won't surprise you that we often talk about the type of music and artists we play at Bolton FM.
